A Nearly Mint Civil War 1860 Cavalry Officer’s Saber With Magnificent Frost Etched Blade By Schuyler Hartley & Graham. 34 inch blade in virtually mint condition wiith etched panel for half its length and “STAND BY THE UNION”, standing eagle, and Phrygian Liberty Cap and foliage on both sides.
Hilt decorated with relief foliate decoration and 1860 officer’s sword engraved pommel showing much original gilding. Wire wrapped fish skin covered wooden grip in pristine condition.
The scabbard for this beautiful sword is in good condition other than significant door pinches.
As fine a Civll War officer’s sword as you are likely to find.
