A Scarce Evans New Model Lever Action Repeating Sporting Rifle Made Circa 1878.
30 inch round barrel. Caliber .44 Evans centerfire. Talk about firepower, the Evans held 28 centerfire cartridges making it the largest capacity repeating firearm ever mass produced and sold in America.
A revolving magazine is loaded into the butt. Markings, mechanically good. Wood butt with some original varnish. The fore-end is checkered with only minor wear. Frame and barrel are patinated but not pitted. The bore is good. One screw absent from the right side of the frame.
A genuinely interesting early repeating lever action American rifle at a very modest price.
