This is a good example of this desirable Civil War revolver. The barrel has a smooth patina with traces of finish under the lever where it meets the frame. The frame with 30% original bright blue, the remainder flaked, leaving a pleasing smooth patina. Cylinder has a smooth patina. Hammer with faded casehardening. Trigger with most original blue.
The one piece walnut grip in good condition with two military inspector’s cartouches, left JLD, right FJB (?). Good action and bore. An above average “Big Starr”.
