An Important 18th Century Pulwar With Massive Watered Steel Fullered Blade Of Unusually High Quality Circa 1745.
The 32 inch blade with superbly fullers with five fullered panels surmounting a single longer one. Elegant cartouche with gold inlaid Arabic calligraphy and another deeply sunken baldesmith’s stamp. Blade is 1 and 3/8th inches wide at forte. Classic early pulwar hilt with finely fluted waisted steel grip.
This serious sword is accompanied by its original leather covered wooden scabbard with steel carrying rings and long steel chape. Made for use in battle this is not only early but extremely well made throughout. Condition is good to fine. Doubtless worn by a genuine warrior who knew the value of a powerful blade. 40 inches overall.
