A Classic ‘Yellow Boy’ Winchester Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine Serial Number 165xxx for 1886.
20 inch round barrel. The barrel with smooth even blue patina and fully legible Winchester address. Original folding rear sight. 44 RF marking. The brass frame polished but essentially full dimension. Original barrel band. Saddle ring original and intact. Lever and hammer are original with attractive smooth dark patina.
Buttstock appears to be a period replacement using the original brass crescent buttplate. The action is smooth. Bore with distinct rifling. This is a better than usual ‘Yellow Boy’ at a most attractive price point.
