A Fine And Rare Complete And Original Cased Set Of Fine Quality English Percussion Traveling Pistols With Snap Bayonets By Robert Scott, 24 Manchester Street Cavendish Square, London 1859-1863.

4 inch 50 caliber octagonal smoothbore barrels fully signed on the flats as above. 4 inch triangular bayonets with central fuller. The springs retaining much original niter blue finish. The springs are incredibly strong and the bayonets snap out with real force and lock tightly into place. Fine English scroll engraving at breech. The sidekick frame finely engraved with best quality English scroll engraving. Hammers engraved ensuite with finely checkered hammer spurs. Push on safeties are engraved and show much original niter blue. Engraved trigger guards with 85% original bright “peacock” blue. Original blued belt hooks. The butts of figured walnut extremely finely checkered with little or no wear. Vacant oval silver thumbpieces. Steel buttcaps engraved with blossoms and hinged cap boxes.

These fine pistols are cased in their original brass bound mahogany case with original green baize lining in fine condition. All accessories are original comprising rare and desirable small powder flask in fine condition with blued spring and no dents, brass tipped wooden cleaning rod, nipple wrench, extra brass jag, ivory cap box, original bullet mold retaining nearly all its original blue finish, and high quality steel oil bottle.

Actions are excellent and bores are fine. Stirrup rammers. Barrel finish is faded. Case lid engraved W. Dawson 1874. This is one of the most original cased sets you will find and the snap bayonets are wonderful.
