An Unusually Fine And Luxurious Silver Mounted And Inlaid, Gold Decorated Ottoman Flintlock Kubur Pistol Circa 1812. 11 inch round barrel with sighting channel and fine relief chiseled strap work panel at breech. .50 caliber. The barrel decorated with two gold inlays on either side of scrolling foliage and maker’s cartouche within a square gold frame. Three gold ribs at breech and beautifully gold Damascened breech tang secured by a Damascened screw.
Sophisticated lock with swan neck chiseled cock and bridled frizzen. Full silver mounts comprising lovely cast and chased openwork sideplate of scrolls and blossoms, triggergurd cast and chased in high relief with foliage and shell design finial surmounted by a blossom.
Finely engraved spurred silver buttcap with pommel decorated with the classic Ottoman crescent. Fine dark walnut fullstock profusely inlaid throughout its length with silver wire in scrolls, the grip inlaid with a large silver plaque engraved with a stand of flags below the Ottoman crescent moon and star.
