The Finest Continental Flintlock Sword Pistol We Have Ever Offered Circa 1780
The Damascus sword is an incredible 23 and 5/8ths inches in length with an absolutely beautiful pattern and further complimented by a board central filler. The width is 1 and 1/8th, Condition is fine to excellent.
The pistol with 4 and 3/8th “Queen Ann” style two stage round barrel with cannon muzzle and multi groove fully rifled 50 caliber barrel. Engraved faceted brass breech, the brass frame finely engraved, the right side with lovely engraved expanded shell guard. Boxlock flintlock action with long engraved steel tang.
Highly figured stock with exquisite bordered paneled checkering retains most of its original high polish varnish. Fantastic brass animal buttcap with fearsome teeth and bulging eyes.
The action works perfectly and the rifled bore is good.
This is a genuine 18th century sword pistol made for use by a Continental gentleman and at 30 and 1/4 inches overall was and remains a serious slashing edged weapon. This one cannot be duplicated so do not hesitate.
