A Rare And Sought After Revolutionary War American Flintlock Militia Officer’s Fusil Circa 1778.
40 and 3/8th inch “Brown Bess” style pin fastened steel barrel with no proofs. 69 caliber smoothbore. Raised steel for-sight. Bridled unmarked “Brown Bess” style lock with gooseneck cock. Brass regulation style furniture.
American walnut militia style fullstock with sharp comb. Child’s & Frank style in form. Military style brass buttplate. Museum white painted number inside triggerguard ‘1538’. Steel ramrod. Overall good condition with nicely patinated lock, clean steel barrel, and good wood with minor wear from use. 56 inches overall.
Lock needs some adjustment to stay on cock. A good condition American militia musket from the Revolutionary War.
