The Finest Quality Silver Gilt Stocked And Niello Decorated Balkan/Ottoman Flintlock Holster Pistol Circa 1825.

12 and 1/16th inch smoothbore barrel. .62 caliber. The barrel masterfully forged in three stages, octagonal at the breech. The breech engraved with foliage and a deeply sunken Ottoman kilij. The breech faceted. Barrel tang concealed beneath a crosshatched silver gilt plaque.

The double bolted lock of exceptional quality finely engraved with foliage, an Ottoman crescent moon at tail. Engraved swan neck hammer. Roller bearing frizzen. The heavy silver gilt fullstock is decorated throughout its length with raised panels of nielloed silver in elaborate vegetal designs. The silver gilt stock with pounced background.

The quality of the decoration and designs is extraordinary in every respect. The condition is nearly pristine throughout with nearly all of the original bright beautiful gilding present and all niello intact. The action is fine as is the bore. 20 and 1/2 inches long overall and this superb pistol also exhibits excellent form.
