A Good And Unusually Large English Boxlock Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol Signed “J&W Richards” (Joseph and William, 1799-1817, 49 New Street, Birmingham).
6 and 5/8th inch brass smoothbore blunderbuss barrel. 1 inch diameter bell muzzle. Engraved brass frame with J&W Richards signature in rectangular reserve, London signed in oval reserve. 4 and 1/8th inch steel triangular blade. Engraved steel triggerguard, boxlock flintlock cock. Push on safety.
Flattened walnut butt. Bayonet springs out smartly. Action is crisp on full and half cock. 12 inches overall without bayonet. A large and handsome snap bayonet blunderbuss pistol.
