A Truly Exceptional Indo-Persian Decorated Work of Art Compound Bow Circa 1750.

By far the finest condition and most elaborately painted early compound bow we have seen being offered. 36 inches from point to point. This bow was painted by a master artist quite probably a highly regarded court artist. The colors of gold, green, and red are harmoniously blended in patterns of cartouches and further decorated throughout with gold blossoms all demonstrative of the painter’s skill.

The condition is remarkable with most colors especially the luxurious gold flowers retain their bright gold after several hundred years. The bowstring appears ancient and of the period. The green painted grip is fine with gold highlights. There have been any number of these bows on the market from a deceased English collector however none are even in the same league with this magnificent bow. Sure to delight the most discerning collector of Islamic weapons.
