An Extremely Rare And Desirable U.S. Model 1855 Rifled Carbine By Springfield Armory.
22 inch round barrel. .54 caliber. One of only 1020 manufactured. U.S. eagle and Springfield dated 1855.
This very rare martial carbine identified by large sling ring affixed to rear of the trigger guard, two leaf rear sight and brass barrel band. The only Model 1855 designed for manual priming. This is much rarer than the Model 1847 musketoon. Few martial collections have an example.
Condition is NRA good throughout. The action is good and the bore has crisp and sharp rifling.
