A Fine And Rare Four Barrel Tap Action English Boxlock Flintlock Pistol By Joyner (John 1761-1780 London, Holborn Street) With Unique Hallmarked Silver Buttcap Circa 1775.
2 and 1/2 inch round barrels partially rifled for removal. Finely engraved frame signed in a double ribbon (JOYNER, LONDON). Engraved double neck cock. Tap action lever fires right two barrels first.
Highly figured deluxe walnut butt with unique finely engraved and triple hallmarked silver buttcap. Overall good condition with crisp engraving and fine wood. Excellent action. All small lock parts are original including top jaw. Silver buttcap in fine condition. 9 inches overall.
This is a very fine and rare multishot flintlock pistol by one of London’s finest gunmakers. Most unusual and attractive.
