An Extremely Attractive Delicate English Brass Barrel And Mounted Flintlock Blunderbuss By Ryan & Watson 1798-1818 (27 Whitehall Street, Birmingham) Circa 1805.

12 inch beautifully molded smoothbore barrel, One inch bore. Breech flat finely engraved in flowing script “London”. Gunmakers proofs and initials “R&W”. Border engraved breech. Double bolted stepped lock with push on safety engraved :"Ryan & Watson”. Graceful gooseneck hammer with engraved hammer screw. Lock with roller bearing frizzen. Frizzen line engraved ensuite with the hammer.

All small parts are original. Elegant engraved side nails held in engraved brass inlays. Long engraved brass triggerguard with acorn finial. Engraved brass buttplate. Fine walnut fullstock with “pineapple” checkering at wrist. The stock with much original finish.

This very fine blunderbuss even retains its original horn tipped ramrod with worm. Action is excellent and bore is fine. 28 inches overall in very fine original condition throughout. A real gem of a blunderbuss!
