A Scarce And Desirable American Brass Barrel, Brass Mounted Secondary Martial Single Shot Flintlock Pistol Signed “H. Young” (Henry Young circa 1820).

8 and 1/2 inch round barrel. 54 caliber. The barrel with post 1813 British proofs. Double bolted lock with engraved blossom signed “H. Young” with roller bearing frizzen. Plain military style brass furniture with starburst engraved triggerguard. Military style walnut fullstock. Plain brass thumb piece.

Fine untouched condition overall with beautifully patinated brass barrel. Action is excellent and bore is fine. According to Sam Smith, one of the greatest of all collectors of American martial pistols: “All Young pistols are rare; only about a dozen have been observed by the authors.”
