 A Good Late 18th Early 19th Century English Midshipman’s Dirk In Scabbard From The Age Of Fighting Sail. 

7 and 3/8th inch six sided blade with needle sharp point. Classic disk shape brass guard with turned decoration and brass pommel turned on side and engraved star on top. Delicate waisted grip.

Finely engraved all brass scabbard with two hangers and elaborate decorative chains attached. Scabbard with strong traces of original fire gilding.

Dirk is 10 and 1/2 inches overall out of scabbard. Condition overall is fine.

An attractive dirk doubtless the pride of an unknown British midshipman during the Napolonic wars.
