A Very Fine Gold Decorated Indo-Persian Tulwar Hilted Scimitar With Superb Wootz Black Damascus Blade And Extensive And Very Rare Raised Relief Gold Calligraphic Inscription Above And Below a Splendid Raised Gold Cartouche Circa 1800.
29 and 1/2 inch deeply curved blade of fine wootz black Damascus. The relief gold calligraphic panels of the finest quality decorate 7 and 1/2 in inches of the right side of the blade. The tulwar hilt finely decorated with classic blossoms and foliage in gold Damascene (slight wear).
The blade in fine condition and the raised gold showing little wear. This is a really magnificent tulwar and will be an addition to even an advanced collection of Indian swords.
