A Beautiful Silver Mounted And Wire Inlaid Classic Ottoman Flintlock Holster Pistol Circa 1820 With Fine Engraved Brass Inalid Barrel.
8 and 1/2 inch round barrel finely overlaid with engraved brass decoration for much of its length and continuing at the breech and on the barrel tang. Stepped, bolted and engraved lock of good quality with calligraphy signature.
Full silver mounts including high relief sideplate featuring cannon and trophy of arms. Beautiful silver triggerguard, Silver thumb piece. Spurred silver buttcap cast and chased in relief with blossoms. Silver pommel cast and chased in relief with a crowned king holding sword aloft. Dark walnut fullstock inlaid throughout with silver wire (losses to wire). Faux ramrod.
Action is good and bore is fair. 15 inches overall. A far better example than commonly offered.
