A Good Early Indo-Persian Gold Decorated Tulwar With High Quality Wootz Damascus Shamshir Blade With Beautiful Gold Overlaid Calligraphic Maker’s Cartouche Circa 1780.

The 28 and 1/4 inch deeply curved shamshir blade of fine wootz Damascus is 1 and 1/2 inch wide at forte. The pattern is lovely and blade is in good condition other than remnants of old corrosion.

The classic Tulwar hilt is Damascened in gold throughout with sprays of foliage and blossoms (some wear to decoration).

This is a nice relatively early Tulwar with a blade of exemplary quality.
