The gold Damascened dragon finish attaches the axe to the shaft and is of museum quality.

The shaft is gold Damascened at the top and the butt and exhibits a Damascus type pattern throughout its 23 and 1/2 inch length.

The condition is very fine showing expected wear to gold Damascening from age and use. This fantastic Indian axe has nothing to do with the look alike Qajar parade axes commonly encountered.
