Original European Full Suit Of Armor With Close Helmet Circa 1580
A Rare And Highly Sought After Full Cap a Pie (Head To Foot) Composite Continental Suit Of Armor Comprehensively Late 16th/Early 17th Century.
Finely formed close helmet of one piece construction with medium high comb, visor with circular breaths, English form with roped edges, scalloped beaver, two plate neck lames (replaced) with roped borders. The helmet with period repairs and delamination guaranteeing it is of the Renaissance period.
Matching pauldrons, cannons, gauntlets (later), tassets a pair, matching legs with embossed caps, matching greaves, and matching paw sabatons. Fine peascod breastplate matches the backplate.
Altogether a most presentable Renaissance armor entirely of the period with the exception of the gauntlets. Full period composite suits of European armor are nearly impossible to obtain and this suit has a particularly good close helmet.
